Because of the current Covid-19 Pandemic movies and other media are lifesavers when school is out and you are looking for something to do. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil released October 18th 2019 and boy was this one a doozie taking place after the first film the story of Sleeping Beauty has finally come to reality and started to become legend this has the adverse effects of the reputation that Maleficent has worsening her in the eyes of the public. To make matters worse Princess Aurora is getting married.

The main plot points of this movie as well as the central theme is this divide between the humans and the fey/fairies and it just continues from the previous film Human nature and the fairies can not exist together and ultimately it is human greed that causes the conflicts.

One key note in this however is the change in opinions of most of the main cast regarding this issue with both sides going through view changes by this conflict and overall promoting a message of peace and negotiation rather than armed conflict to resolve these differences.

Although this had an interesting commentary on human nature there was a convenient plot device which kind of distracts us from the main themes towards the end of the movie from a narrative standpoint in makes sense why it is there, but it does detract some of the gravity from the end and the lessons we as viewers were supposed to take a way.

Otherwise Maleficent: Mistress of Evil was overall a pretty good movie the visuals were stunning and the story was interesting this is definitely worth a watch.
