With Christmas quickly approaching, it is time to expect some holliday movies to hit the theaters. And the headline of one of these movies is the 2018 rework of Dr. Seuss’s ‘The Grinch’.

While the Grinch is one of the most successful and enjoyable Christmas movies of all time, it will be interesting to see how the newest rework compares to the 2000 Jim Carrey version. The newest edition will be animated with the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch as the Grinch.

The movie will premiere in theaters November 9th all around the country. And, it being The Grinch, it is expected that the movie will do extremely well.

There is a good chance that people will go into the theater with a bias that there is no chance it can match up with the past version, but maybe it will surprise some viewers.

I asked Riverton senior Baylee Blake how she thought the new version would compare to the extremely successful 2000 version. She responded, “I don’t think it will be as good as the Jim Carrey version and they won’t be able to top it.”

Maybe it won’t be as successful, but don’t be surprised if the movie produces some pretty large sales.

When Paige Painter was asked if she was excited for the film, she quickly responded with, “Yes. Most definitely yes”.

Numbers and sales are important and necessary, but they can’t determine whether you personally like the movie or not. So go to a theater and see if the Grinch really stole Christmas.
