As the year comes to a close, and the seniors get excited for graduation, there are several events for the seniors to look forward to including senior week, passing out of caps and gowns, senior dinner dance, and of course, graduation itself.

Senior week begins on May 14th and will last all week. The most important event of that week is the passing out of caps and gowns, which is on Wednesday, May 16th on the landing by the auditorium during lunches. Seniors will only be able to receive their cap and gown if their name is not on the senior fail list, which will be posted on the windows of the library.

Senior Dinner Dance is May 25th, starting at 6pm at the Thanksgiving Point Barn. It costs $40 and is a night just for seniors. It will consist of dinner, an award ceremony (the awards voted on by the senior class), and of course, dancing.

When we asked senior Emily Wilkinson what event she’s most excited for she said, “Senior dinner dance because even though graduation is the last big thing we do as seniors, that day is going to be crazy and hectic and it will go by so fast, but at senior dinner dance, we are going to be able to sit down with our class and eat and have one more dance together that kind of symbolizes the end”.

While senior Bailey Harris said, “Senior dinner dance because I want to party hard one last time with all my friends”.

Graduation practice is May 30th in the RHS big gym, and Graduation is on May 31st at 10 am at the University of Utah Huntsman Center, and just like that, the year will be over, and the seniors will be moving onto bigger things. So seniors make sure you get out and participate in all the high school events before it’s too late!
